E.P.S. Senior Training Specialist

(Retired) - Officer Mark Hingston

Officer Hingston is a qualified, 30 year veteran of Law Enforcement. Recently retired as a Monmouth County Sheriffs Officer with many accomplishments and service decorations. His philosophy of "My experiences can train the future" attitude has a profound impact on his past and future students. He holds many certifications in the training environment. His expertise includes Instructor for the following courses; Active Shooter, Rapid Deployment, Ballistic Shield, MP-5 Semi-automatic weapons, NRA certified Firearms instructor as well as International instructorship in Monadnock Expandable Baton, O.C. Spray, Handcuffing and ICS. Officer Hingston is also a NJ State certified S.O.R.A. Instructor.

E.P.S. Training Specialist

Christopher Hingston

Chris is a 9 year veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He has been stationed in Virginia, Maryland, and Cape May, NJ. He has 9 years of Law Enforcement experience. He has 7 years of Instructional experience for the United States Coast Guard as a Training Specialist. He is a certified Instructor Evaluator to evaluate and mentor prospective Coast Guard Active, Reserve and Civilian Instructors. He is also the Subject Matter Expert and Lead Instructor for the Recruit Basic Training Remedial Fitness Program. Certified Lifeguard, American Safety and Health Institute CPR, AED, First Aid Instructor, International Monadnock Expandable Baton, O.C. Spray, Handcuffing and NRA certified Firearms instructor. He has many decorations and medals from the U.S.C.G. and is currently in the Reserves, stationed in Virginia. His philosophy of "A positive, professional, and educational training environment makes excellence" is an integral part of the E.P.S. infrastructure.

E.P.S. Training Specialist

(Retired) - Captain Joseph Hefferon

Joseph is a 25 year veteran Captain of the Essex County Sherriff's Office. He has held many assignments from Detective in the Narcotics Bureau, to Commander of the Fugitive Unit’s Detective division. Joseph was also an Instructor at the Essex County Police Academy, as well as a trainer/instructor of many other courses. He is also corporate trainer for St Barnabas Medical Center, as well as Prudential Global Security. Joseph is an author of “The Seventh Level” a personal growth system based on the architectural development process, and author of the Texas Crime Trilogy “Scattergun” and “Alice”. He has a great passion for passing on his knowledge to the private sector, and professional industry.

E.P.S Training Specialist

(Retired) - Officer NYPD - John Cassidy

John is a veteran of the New York Police Department's Property and Evidence division as well as Patrol from the midtown-south precinct. He has also worked on the World Trade Center's Special Duty detail at Ground Zero immediately after 9/11. John has also trained in NY's Auto Crime course on how to identify and track alleged stolen vehicles. He also has in-depth training in Police Lab procedures on collecting forensic evidence from a crime scene. John is also affiliated with the "Educate the Block" program, New Jersey City University, as well as Director of Operations for the Phalanx Alliance, LLC.

E.P.S EMS Specialist Instructor

Justin Hoffer

Justin started his EMS career in 2001 with Morganville First Aid Squad as a cadet. He quickly became 1st Lieutenant of the cadet corps from his hard work and dedication. He served as a Marlboro Township Police Explorer in 1999 to 2004. In 2003 he graduated from Marlboro High School and Monmouth County Vocational School with a general diploma and a Diploma in Law Enforcement. In February 2003 he was hired by JLM Enterprises as a Security Officer, he was quickly promoted to Sergeant and occasionally worked with their investigations unit. In 2011 he joined the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, where attained many decorations and ribbons. He held the position of Vice Flotilla Commander in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. In 2012 Justin became a certified Basic Life Support Instructor. He joined Madison Park First Aid Squad in 2013 and quickly became the Field Training Officer and was promoted to First Lieutenant in 2014. 2015 he was nominated and won New Jersey State's Most Outstanding Volunteer Emergency Medical Technician. In 2017 Justin attained the rank of Assistant Captain of Madison Park Volunteer First Aid Squad and still serves as an active riding member.
